Talking Turkey

At the historic Broad Street Market, we’ve got Thanksgiving on our minds and it all starts with the turkey. Our meat and poultry vendors are currently taking orders for high-quality fresh (never frozen), smoked and locally raised whole turkeys and parts. Pre-ordering is not required, but is strongly encouraged to ensure you are getting exactly what you want for your Thanksgiving meal. You’ll be able to pick up your birds the day before Thanksgiving when we’ll be open during special hours that week (our holiday schedule is listed below).

Green Ridge Acres – Pre-orders are being accepted now for pasture-raised turkeys from Ruthy and David Lapp’s Lancaster farm. Whole birds from 10-25lbs will be available as well as smoked turkey parts. To order, stop in to see Ruthy, e-mail through Green Ridge’s website or call 717-920-6611. Green Ridge Acres is open in the Brick Building on Thursdays and Fridays from 7am-5pm and Saturdays 7am-4pm (holiday hours are listed below).

Lebanon Valley Meats – Whole birds (in the 10-12lb range or 22-24lb range) plus smoked turkey parts raised by Reisinger’s in York County can be pre-ordered now from LV Meats. See Steve at LV Meats to place your order. Lebanon Valley Meats is open in the Brick Building on Thursdays and Fridays from 7am-5pm and Saturdays 7am-4pm (holiday hours are listed below).

R.G. Hummer Meats and Cheese – Ryan and his team are now taking orders for fresh and smoked turkeys, boneless and bone-in turkey breasts, smoked turkey parts and bone-in and boneless hams. Hormone-free turkeys are raised locally in Lititz near Ryan’s dad’s shop. See Matt at Hummer’s or call 717-232-4150 to order. R.G. Hummer Meats and Cheese is open in the Brick Building from 7am-5pm on Thursdays and Fridays and 7am-4pm on Saturdays (holiday hours are listed below).

Smucker’s Chicken – 10-30lb whole turkeys and turkey parts locally raised by Reisinger Poultry in York County are available to be pre-ordered now. Stop in to see Dan Smucker to reserve your bird. Smucker’s is open in the Brick Building on Thursdays and Fridays from 7am-5pm and Saturdays 7am-4pm (holiday hours are listed below).

Two Brothers BBQ – To free up real estate in your oven and strike one thing from your to-do list, Leon will cook your turkey (twelve pounds maximum) in his rotisserie oven for $25. Drop your turkey off on the Tuesday before Thanksgiving and he’ll have it fully cooked the next day at a time that suits you. Leon is also taking orders for Reisinger Poultry’s whole turkeys and/or turkey parts. Two Brothers BBQ is open in the Brick Building on Thursdays and Fridays from 7am-5pm and Saturdays 7am-4pm (holiday hours are listed below).
